Skold Specialty is looking for a Construction Project Manager/Estimator in Rogers, MN, to assist in reviewing plans, estimating project costs, and coordinating specialty construction projects from start to finish. This role involves working closely with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and architects while building strong industry relationships. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan Review: Analyze and review construction plans and specifications to understand project scope, requirements, and timelines.
- Use Local Plan Rooms: Utilize local plan rooms to access project documents, blueprints, and specifications for bidding and estimating purposes.
- Estimate Pricing: Obtain and compare pricing from multiple manufacturers/suppliers to develop accurate and competitive project estimates.
- Collaborate with Project Manager: Plan, schedule, and coordinate Skold Specialty’s portion of the construction projects from start to finish.
- Project Communication: Communicate with general contractors, installation partners, and manufacturers/suppliers to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Networking: Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors and architects through active participation in local networking events, tradeshows, client meetings, and industry gatherings.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-3 years of experience in construction project management, estimating, or a related role (internships and co-op experience considered).
- Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and basic estimating tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in commercial construction, particularly in specialty contracting (e.g., drywall, ceilings, framing, etc.).
- Familiarity with estimating software and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
