ISU Black Engineering

Iowa State University was looking to install an exterior door that would be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The purpose of the large, exterior folding door was to move laboratory equipment in and out when changing projects/lab layout. We worked closely with both BBS Architects | Engineers and DoorWall Systems to design a custom door that would match the lines of the existing brick accent color with the new door’s window rails.

The 10’-0” wide x 11’-8” high door was powder coated to match adjacent bronze on exterior of the building and comes equipped with an anti-fall cable safety assembly, safety sensing edge and photo-eyes, full perimeter weather seals and 1” insulated glass.
